The success of our project was due to the expert craftsmen Jim (Stefl) contracted for the job. The craftsmen on the project were trustworthy and friendly… like having family in the house and Jim (Stefl) came to the job site daily to check on the progress of the project to insure its timely completion. It was a pleasure to work with an honest and principled builder such as J. We began the building process with Jim from J. Stefl Development in January of 2018.  We have built homes with our builders in our past but this was the first time we were building a completely custom home. From the very first meeting with the architect, it was clear this experience was going to be different. The innovative and modern thinking was fun and enlightening. Discussing and iterating on our personal preferences in a home, what was possible and how it all fit into an expected budget was exciting and made simple by Jim and his architect. 

 

As the building process began, we had a good understanding of what to expect. From excavation through the finishing touches, there always seemed to be something new happening each week.  On top of that, the contractors did high-quality work and were friendly when we visited the job site.  We really enjoyed visiting and watching the progress of our home being built. Through the process, Jim was very present and ensured what was happening is exactly what we were expecting in terms of design and quality. 

 

The excitement built was we neared the finish. Those last few weeks as the finishing touches were done were some of the most fun. The vision we started with the architect really came to life. We feel like we built a high-quality home at a good value in a great neighborhood and couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.  If we were to ever build again, it would be with J. Stefl Development.

If I could only use one word to describe Jim, it would be AMAZING.  This was a very challenging build with a non-conforming lot and multiple variances.  Jim was with me every step of the way. Jim was personally at the job site every day monitoring progress, getting ahead of potential issues and inspecting the work.  Jim has very high standards and he holds his contractors to that same level.  His attention detail is phenomenal.

He sees every little detail and corrects items that don’t meet his standards.  His quote was on target and continued to try to save money as the build progressed.  I was never surprised and when an issue did arise he helped me walk through our options and determine the best course of action.  Jim is very committed to every project even well after the project is completed.  When past customers call he is always willing to help solve an issue or connect them with the right resource.
